Throughout this course, whenever we are discussing Self Awareness and Identity, we will use the icon you see to the right.
Most people think they are pretty self-aware. However, according to a study discussed HERE, true self awareness is actually pretty rare.
And still, what’s more:
Research suggests that when we see ourselves clearly, we are more confident and more creative. We make sounder decisions, build stronger relationships, and communicate more effectively. We’re less likely to lie, cheat, and steal. We are better workers who get more promotions. And we’re more-effective leaders with more-satisfied employees and more-profitable companies.
(Many thanks to the Harvard Business Review for so many links to Self-Awareness research!)
This Self-Awareness is an important part of Social Emotional Learning because it is an important part of being a healthy, functioning adult.
